Wind Turbine at Sunset

New Mexico's wind energy boom needs a place to end well.

New Mexico is one of the nation's top wind energy producers — and it's growing fast. By the end of 2026, SunZia Wind Farm alone will be the largest wind farm in the Western Hemisphere, with 916 turbines and more than 2,700 blades generating clean energy across the State.

But wind turbine blades don't last forever. Made from fiberglass and carbon fiber composites, they can't be melted down or easily repurposed — and today, the closest recycling facility is more than 200 miles away in Lubbock, Texas. Blades that aren't transported are cut into sections and buried in landfills, where they will never biodegrade.

We're building a better option — right here in New Mexico.
